Email Marketers Have A New Place To Swap Mailings.

Email MarketingI saw John Chow do a sponsored review of Safe Swaps and really think this place has potential. What they let you do is go on their system and find other people with email lists and arrange a swap where you do a mailing for them and they do one for you. I’ve been approached in the past by other marketers who wanted to do this, but the problem has always been accountability. You just never knew if they had a list the size they claimed, or would do a mailing at all if yours went out first.

Safe Swaps (at safe-swaps.com) is fairly new, but they offer validated and non validated members to do list swaps with. To validate, you give them a temporary login to your mailing service so they can check your numbers. While it might seem unnerving to do this, the place makes their living by being matchmaker for a monthly fee, so I wouldn’t worry too much. Also, when you’re validated about how many subscribers you have, people are much more likely to agree to a swap with you.

I haven’t tried this yet, but it makes so much sense I probably will give it a shot. They also have a rating system for responses, so you can see who’s giving the best results. Desktopserver.com was originally the way I started 15 years ago selling bulk email software. Of course back then spam wasn’t a problem, but we all know how that turned out… If you know of a place like this I’d appreciate a comment, just haven’t run across a matchmaker service like this one before.

  1. Thanks for the information. I actually did a Google search for list swaps and your article came up first. I’m actually surprised you don’t have an affiliate link for them. Or maybe they don’t offer affilates. If you’d had one, I definitely would have clicked on it. Just a thought.

I just watched a video talking about “promotion swaps.” The idea sounded great and better than joint ventures or affiliate marketing but I wasn’t real clear on how it worked. Are you familiar with this idea? If so, would love to read a blog post on it. Thanks!

    Hey Bob,

I only do affiliate links of places or products I’ve tried personally. We’ll be doing a swap with this place in the coming weeks, but until I see it (and the results) in action I hold off on becoming an affiliate. It looks good because they’re the first place I’ve come across that does so much verification and tracking. We didn’t do swaps before because we were never sure if a place really had the amount of subscribers they claim.
